Four things that add value
Clay Detels - Happy to recommend Jeff to anyone looking for an accomplished technical writer who can jump in with both feet and get things done. There are four things that make Jeff a valuable part of any team. The first is his ability to learn complex technical matters quickly. I was very impressed with how quickly he came up to speed with using GitHub and editing in Markdown while simultaneously addressing editing needs for a wide range of technical articles for a sysadmin audience. The second is his people skills. Jeff is very comfortable reaching out to SME's and content owners, setting up meetings, asking questions and establishing relationships with people. This is an invaluable skill. The third is his organizational skills. He implemented a system for keeping track of his progress against his tasks in progress that went above and beyond what was available in the shared tool. The fourth and maybe the most important is that he's a good writer. He certainly knows the Microsoft voice, he knows how to write for the target audience and he writes clean logical copy. Great person to work with, grab him if you're able to.
